S.E.R Sustainable Evolutive Residence

The project starts from the reflection about human being life cycle, and the need of questioning the subject housing/shelter in a global way.

This house has been developed to serve a various number of users; the possibility of building the house based on a family structure, contemplating its natural evolution, and exploring the self-construction.

Inhabitable space quality, eco(nomic) and resistant materials, solar orientation justification, natural air circulation, rain water collect; all these premises are priority themes for each climate and latitude. The house machine is the only irregular volume, and contains the kitchen and the bathrooms. This volume is the engine of the house structure, and it has the following functions: energy feed and hot water, collects the rain water, and coordenate the natural air stream through the chimney effect. The “accessory” volumes (rooms and living rooms) arrange itself alternatly creating patios, in order to achieve better solar exposition and take advantage of passive irradiation.

The constructive system must be simple and fit into a container: in order to be carried to all the different places, to expand an existing S.E.R. construction, and to dismantle the house, recycling all its components.
